End in sight

There is some saying- that you should enjoy where you are at that time, because you can never have that time again-or something like that. I try to do that as much as possible, especially now that I am pregnant. But as for the last 6 or so years that Andrew has been in school, I am very happy to say they are almost over! (just the school part, because we have had some pretty fun and cool vacations in the last 6 years!) He only has 2-3 weeks of classes left, and then graduates on April 30th. I'm not saying I wish he wouldn't have gone to school, it has just been a VERY long, arduous-(spelling?) process! First he started at UVSC with the intent to do computer science-programming. After 2 semesters of those classes, he decided he hated programming and didn't want to do that for a career. His brother, Phillip was doing nursing at BYU-I and seemed to like it or love it, so Andrew decided that would be a better career choice. He was a CNA in high school, so he had a little background in the medical field. So he started getting the pre-req's done to get into the nursing program. There are alot of pre-req's, so that took a while-and since UVSC became UVU, they decided to change the program half way through. So that pretty much screwed up Andrew's semester and added additional classes that he hadn't planned on taking. Anyway Andrew now feels like a Super senior, and it has taken almost 6 years to get a four year degree at UVU! I am so proud of Andrew, I know I couldn't have done it! He is so smart, and I am so lucky to have a husband that has worked so hard to ensure that our family has a good future. I know work is really stressful for him sometimes-I can't imagine trying to save someone's life if they code on you-heck, some people stress me out just trying to figure out how they want their hair cut! He has taken some of the hardest classes that are offered at UVU and is graduating cum laude-not sure what that means, other than he has a pretty good GPA! Now he will take a year or two off of school, get into the ICU to gain experience for nurse anesthesia school, then start applying for that. I am really happy that we decided to wait so long to have kids, now we will get to have alot of family time together-well until grad school, but we won't think about that for now! :) Whew, that was a long post!

Sewing Machine

I decided I need to be a little more "domestic", so for my birthday tomorrow I am going to get a sewing machine! Andrew is always saying I have no "hobbies", only because he is a fishing fanatic. So since he has a hobby to spend lots of money on, I figure I might as well get one too, after all I'm not getting any younger! I tried sewing classes in Jr. High and High School, but I didn't have very good teachers, so I didn't like it. I would just bring my sewing projects home and have my mom attempt to show me how to do it. But after seeing all the cute blankets and burp cloths you can make, I guess I will try it again. After all, my mom and grandma are awesome at sewing and always making cute things! So they can be my teachers for now- ha ha. I am thinking I will start with burp cloths and maybe a recieving blanket since they are relatively cheap and easy. Who knows, maybe a quilt will be in the near future! (yeah right!) So hopefully I will like it....
And just thought I would mention that Andrew's first final is in 3 weeks, hallelujah! I thought that since this was his last semester in the Bachelor program, they would go easy on them-noooo! This has been the worst semester so far in terms of never, ever seeing my husband! Between full time school and full time work, it sucks! I feel like some pregnant widow or something, lol. So I have been counting the weeks for a while now, and can't believe it's down to 3!

Diapers!

So when I got off work last night, I decided to stop at Babies r us to see what they had. They had pampers for $5 off a box, so I figured since they were on sale I would buy a box of them. It was really wierd to buy my first box of diapers! So I think I am just going to start buying a box here and there so we are stocked up a little. It is really weird to buy any baby stuff right now! There is so much in the store, it's a little over-whelming. I don't even know where to start. Bottles, binkies, bibs, diapers, clothes, strollers, cribs and everything in between! It stresses me out thinking about it. Anyway, Andrew has spring break this week, but I don't think we will even have time to go look at stuff. Only a month and a half until he is done at UVU, yay! Oh, and my stomach is definately bigger now, clients at work are asking if it's my first or when I'm due, so you can tell I'm pregnant! I'm not liking this larger extension of me, it's wierd! But I have felt the baby moving every day for about 2 weeks now, and I can feel it outside with my hand too! He is a strong little thing. Andrew hasn't been able to feel it yet, he only moves once or twice in the same spot, and by the time I tell Andrew to try and feel it, it has stopped!

smooth sailing

I just thought I would say how blessed I have been so far to have such an easy pregnancy. (Fingers crossed!) I have had no morning sickness or nausea at all, in fact the only thing that has been bad, is how tired I have been-and my feet killing after being on them all day at work. But I will take fatigue over throwing up any day! So hopefully it will continue to be smooth sailing until the little guy comes :) and until then, just alot of sleeping in! Hopefully easy pregnancy doesn't = hard baby! I'm already over 21 weeks, it's crazy how fast the time has gone, he will be here before I even know it!

Too much to do!

So, in the last week I have probably seen Andrew for a total of 8 hours, mostly at night when I get off of work. Which leaves no time to go out shopping for baby things that we need to get! I have been looking around online and there are SO many choices for cribs, bedding, strollers, etc. I don't know how anyone can ever pick what they want! I guess we still have four months, but seeing how fast the last four have gone by-I am kind of starting to stress out! We have almost nothing! I have 4 outfits and 2 blankets and that is it. So most likely I will just have to keep waiting until he graduates April 30th, and then maybe we can finally get everything. Oh-Andrew's brother did make an awesome dresser that we are using for the baby's room. He did a great job, it's perfect for a baby/little kid's room. So enough stressing for today, and I would like to say how much I do appreciate all of Andrew's hard work! (and school) That is why I never see him, which is why we waited so long to have kid's! So he will be done with school and I will be able to see him more then, which is when it will matter more anyway!

Its a Boy!!!

We found out on Thursday that we are having a little boy! Andrew is so excited to have a little fishing buddy! Now we can start buying stuff to get the room ready for him. We got quite a few ultrasound pictures. One neat picture is the top view of his head, then he put both hands in front of his face and we could see those at the same time too! It was so neat, everything looked normal and healthy. I wonder who he will look like? Now just to start the name game, we can't agree on any boy names! Hopefully we will find one we both like soon.

Random things

Ok, I think I am starting to figure this blog thing out a little bit. We'll see when I try to add some pictures though! We go in on February 25th for our ultrasound to see what we are having. I'm so excited, it's been hard to not just go to the hospital and pay $45 to see what it is. I will post when we find out! I thought this would be a good place to also keep as a kind of journal of what is going on in our lives too. Right now Andrew is really busy in the last semester of the BSN program at UVU. He is always at school, work, or sleeping since he works graveyards. I don't see him much, so it will be SO nice when he graduates-April 30th! I am still working at Sportclips as an assistant manager. We are trying to decide if and when I am going to work after I have our baby. I have always wanted to be a stay at home mom, but have been working for so long, I'm afraid I won't know what to do. I guess a new baby is a job in itself though, so we shall see what happens!
